Jorgie Porter
Jorgie Porter has gone from the drama of Hollyoaks to Dancing on Ice and living in the I’m A Celeb jungle but how does all of that compare to making her musical stage debut in Fame the Musical?
Jorgie joined Sarina on Plan B to tell her all about it.
Ballerina
Jorgie made her stage musical debut in Fame as ballerina Iris Kelly. The audition for the role was intense – so much so that the next day she woke with aches all over her body and bleeding feet but she loves the chance to take to the stage and dance every night.
She can relate to her character as for many years she was trying to make it in the entertainment industry. Her big break was landing the role of Theresa McQueen in Hollyoaks. She had a ball playing out all of the drama that came with being Theresa but after 8 years, it was time to explore other roles.
Jorgie did a few stints on reality TV - one of the toughest was going into the Australian Jungle for “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.” She definitely enjoys watching it more than being a part of it! When her batch of celebs came out of the jungle, they all kept in contact via their whats app group but that has since been deleted. They do love catching up with each other whenever they are at awards ceremonies and the like.
While Jorgie may not be rushing back to the jungle, she is looking forward to entertaining Irish audiences with “Fame The Musical”, when it comes to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre from 16 – 22 June.
