A film about career con artist Roy Courtnay (McKellan) who meets wealthy widow Betty McLeish (Helen Mirren) online in the hope to swindle her out of her cash. When feelings get involved, Roy questions whether or not he will go ahead with it.

Russell said it was such an exciting and happy project to work on, and the memory that he will treasure forever is the gossip sessions they would have in their down time.

Russell is a massive art fan, so much so that he and his friend, Robert Diamente have started their own podcast series, Talk Art. This week’s guest was his co-star, Ian McKellan.

He is very excited about his next project, Because the Night. It is a four part TV series that will air in 2020. It is currently filming and the hope is it will be on our TV screens next year. In the meantime, you can see Russell in The Good Liar, in cinemas now.
