Melanie Murphy is one of Ireland’s most successful YouTubers. Her channel has over 600,000 subscribers and her videos have had a combined total of 60million views. The last time she was on the show, she was talking about her first book, a memoir - Fully Functioning Adult (Almost), which was full of advice for young people growing up in the digital age. This week she joined Sarina to talk about her debut novel If Only.

Even though Melanie is a successful content creator on YouTube and her memoir topped the Irish book charts, she shared that she has imposter syndrome now that she is getting a fiction novel published. She is trying to work on that though and celebrate, and own, the fact that her debut novel is being well received, that it too is topping the charts, and that she deserves to be there!
One of the most surreal moments of Melanie’s career happened this week when she found out that she was a part of a leaving cert exam question!

Even though If Only has just hit book stores, Melanie has already started working on her second novel and has plans to write many more. This does not mean she is giving up on her YouTube channel – she has plenty of plans for that too!
