A young boy is in serious condition after an alleged attack in Co. Clare.
The alleged incident happened at a property in the Sixmilebridge area, last Thursday afternoon.
The child was taken to University Hospital Limerick. He is being treated for serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Investigations are ongoing.
In a statement by Gardaí it said:
"Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault that occurred at a premises in Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare on Thursday afternoon, 5th October 2023.
A male child was brought to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious but not life-threatening injuries."
